How to use the store insights page

What is it?

Once you've imported your stores we can give you some high level insights about your store in one place.

This page is a direct parallel to the Product > Insights page.

Where is it?

On your Store > Settings page you should see the "Insights" tab:

Basics section

Image

The first line summarizes your store's inventory. Each of your products can be disabled or "active" in this sense. Most often you won't have any disabled, so that will be zero. Same for designs (aka "design groups") and for collections. "Products in designs" indicate how many of your total products are grouped together into designs.

The second line gives insights about traffic on this website.

"Total views" indicates how many "hits" or "impressions" there were on this product's public page. Not your private management pages.

"Qualified views" is a subset of all of those hits. I'm filtering out views by you and any other agents that might be in your agency. I'm also filtering out bots like Google's as much as I can with the log entries. Major web spidering bots typically announce themselves when they make web requests.

"Total link-outs" is the number of times people have clicked on a "Shop at Zazzle" link from your product page to go to your Zazzle product page.

"Visitor link-outs" is the subset of that attributable to vistors. Or more precisely people who are not you, the agency owner, or agents of your agency.

Sales over time section

This section gives a narrower view of your product's sales than you will get in your sales reports. You'll only see data here if you have imported your royalty history file.

I won't go into detail here, since the sales reports are well documented. But here's a couple screenshots showing how your sales history for this product can look over time:

Top sellers section

This is a pared down version of the Tops & bottoms report.

Note that the sort order for this top 5 is determined by the "View" drop-down found in the Sales over time section. Default is to sort by number of orders. But you can also sort by total quantities sold and total royalties earned.

Niche analysis section

Image

This is a thumbnail sketch of the more detailed Niche analysis tool on the Product > Insights page. We have a list of hundreds of thousands of search queries performed by real Zazzle visitors. That's reflected in the "Known searches" number.

When you visit this page, we run each of those searches against all of the products in your store. We show two numbers summarizing the results. "Matching searches" shows how many of those searches match at least one product in your store. The percentage is simply that number divided by the number of known searches. This is bound to be small for any store. Typically below 1%. The absolute number is more useful here.

The "Matching products" value is how many of your store's products match at least one of those many searches. The percentage is simply that number divided by the total number of active products in your store.

Admittedly, this section isn't that interesting. It is freely available to Basic agencies. Premium agencies will find the Niche analysis tool in the Product > Insights page far more detailed and actionable.
