What is a design group?

Oftentimes a store offers several products that share the same printed design. For example:

We encourage store owners to group their products by design. The main focus of course is on the products. We refer to these generally as "designs". But we'll sometimes refer to them as "design groups". Here's an example of an Alpaca design.

We also encourage store owners to choose an image of the pure design distinct from any particular product it appears on to represent the design group. For example:

In searches these designs appear as tiles featuring the main design and "microtiles" showcasing some of the individual products:
