In fact, I was sometimes embarrassed to have someone new to my home, with its purple walls in the dining room and turquoise accent wall behind the fireplace. In the kitchen, a lime green frog cookie jar that was my grandmother's many years ago made me smile, but was it really reflective of what a grown adult with a full-time job should have adorning her limited counter space?
