Here is a photo of one of the chicks I hatched out a few weeks ago in the incubator.  She is feathering in a really pretty gray color.  The nest is one I found in my yard this winter that a bird had used some of our horse's hair in.  I then put some of my Button Quail eggs (empty of course so they don't spoil) in it and sprayed it with a clear gloss protective coat to keep it as an indoor decoration.  I thought the nest would look cute with the chick for a few photos.

One of my Easter Egger chicks.  Easter Eggers are chickens that lay blue, green, or pink eggs.  They are not a recognized show breed but they are fun to have around for the fun colors of eggs.  This one hatched from a green egg.

Sparrow Valentine

This salt shaker was in a $1 box of junk at an auction.  It is dated 1958 on the bottom.  I love it even if it is missing it's mate.  Oil Painting effect added to this photo.

This hen lived in a commercial hen house most of her life.  I just got her 2 days ago.  She is going to be so much happier and healthier living here as a free-range hen.  She is in the driveway in this shot amazed by all the space she has and deciding just where she wants to go to enjoy the grass in the hay meadow.  Her feathers will start growing back shortly and she will be a nice pretty happy hen.

Hope is a German Shepherd mix.  Her mother was a purebred imported German Shepherd but the people who gave her to me do not know who her father was.  She was an accident.  She herself is spayed.  She is a great girl and loves to go on walks. Photography by Angelandspot Jan. 2008

This is the front cover from the book "Easy To Read" Copyright, 1882. D. Lothrop & Co. Boston Mass. I think it is very cute. I hope you enjoy it also. The book is over 100 years old so all the pages have that perfect patina to them. Some pages have stains as you can see in the corner of this image but that only adds to the character and charm. I love really old books.
