How to claim ownership of your agency and stores here on Pinterest's website

What is this about?

Pinterest summarizes claiming your website thusly:

Claiming your website gives you insight into how often your content is shared on Pinterest. It also helps people know where to find more information, since your Pinterest profile is linked to any Pins with saved content from your website.

Whenever an image from your claimed website is saved:

  • Your profile picture will appear alongside the Pin
  • The Pin will link to your Pinterest profile
  • People will see the option to follow you on Pinterest

For us there is a much more important aspect. When a pin points to a site you own, Pinterest will give it much greater visibility.

How to do it

To get started you'll want to get to your Agency > Settings page. Go to your My account page and click on "Settings" on the agency toolbar:

On the Agency > Settings page you'll see a "Pinterest" button on the toolbar. Click that:

Why this works

What you're doing is very simple. Your agency's website is every URL under a base URL. That URL will be "https://snugglehamster.com/a/<agency code>/". What you're doing is telling Pinterest about this URL and taking a step to prove you own it. Just like when you verify your store ownership here.
