Handsome here played a drum solo on the neighbor's chimney. It was quite the "riveting" performance -- but should come as no surprise, as Northern Flickers have natural showmanship tendencies. It was unusual to see the male near the fruit trees, as it is often the female who visits the suet block on the other side of the fence. Photographed on March 1, 2018.
