Black Oystercatcher with Clam Serving Tray

Black Oystercatchers are one of the most approachable shorebirds in Metro Vancouver. Some will even walk right up to you--giving you the chance for lovely photo opportunities. This may be a Black Oystercatcher, but we saw only clams and mussels being deftly pried apart for their tasty flesh by these expert shuckers.
