The Gold Dust Day Gecko is originally from Madagascar and has been introduced into the Hawaiian Islands and the southern Seychelles. Also be found in Australia and New Zealand. The gold dust gecko is light green to yellow-green in color. There are three red teardrop markings that are quite long and dotting down their backs. The cuckoo birds have many different species. The gray European Common Cuckoo is the bird that we associate with most. But these birds come in other colors and the cuckoo is a common name for members of the extensive avian family Cuculidae.  Of the ground cuckoos, the roadrunner, or chaparral  bird, of the southwest deserts is best known.

Their shell, or "test", is round and spiny, typically from 3 to 10 cm (1.2 to 3.9 in) across. Common colors include black and dull shades of green, olive, brown, purple, and red. They move slowly, feeding mostly on algae.  The name "urchin" is an old name for the round spiny hedgehogs that sea urchins resemble.
