Add in the bright orange beak perfect for the safflower and sunflower seeds she will enjoy on this cold winter's day, and that plump chest rounded out with her additional winter plumage, and she could not be more cute. No wonder the colorful northern cardinal is the state bird of Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia, and West Virginia!

Emerson Beautiful Floral Quote Serving Tray

A beautiful red-bellied woodpecker strikes a classic pose on this white and black mug with customizable message. I love bird watching in my own backyard. These woodpeckers are a bit shy, but they can't resist the suet in our bird feeders! On this day, I was patient (and lucky) to catch this one before he made a quick flight to the feeder nearby. 

This design is from one of my original photos that I have turned into an artistic print for a different style. If you do not like the phrase "bird nerd," you can replace it with your own phrase or name. In the black box, you may include a message to your gift recipient that they can enjoy each day as they sip from this mug.

The tropical butterfly the "Common Blue Morph" is actually not blue at all, especially when his wings are closed! But it is no less spectacular for this illusion, as the butterfly is often a part of exhibits at local conservatories, which is where I captured this beauty many years ago.
