I photographed this cardinal one day in my backyard during the summer, but by cutting him out and placing him in front of a second photo of my pine tree and adding a filter, he fits the winter scene beautifully! Cardinals do visit my yard during winter and I sometimes photograph them during the season, but this bright red male is one of my favorite I've captured of the bird, and I wanted to share it with you.

This hawksbill sea turtle "watercolor sketch" was originally a cell phone photograph I took at The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in Columbus, Ohio. "Buddy" is a rescued sea turtle who suffered injuries that prevent her from thriving in the wild. She now swims happily in her new home alongside some manatee friends!
