Since I was young, I have found peace and comfort in nature. Surrounded by beautiful sights, sounds, and smells, my mind clears and my energy renews. Through my camera lens, I try to capture some of the beauty that makes me smile, and the creatures that make me laugh. 

Here, it is my hope that by bringing my creations into your life, you may enjoy some of the many benefits the natural world can offer in all of our moods and seasons. As a former high school English teacher, I also have a strong draw to quotes from remarkable minds, and I enjoy sharing positive messages that I find encouraging. Today it is more important than ever to speak with ourselves gently, and to teach our children to do the same.

I have a secret: For a long time, I didn't think I had an interior design style. In fact, I was sometimes embarrassed to have someone new to my home, with its purple walls in the dining room and turquoise accent wall behind the fireplace. In the kitchen, a lime green frog cookie jar that was my grandmother's many years ago made me smile, but was it really reflective of what a grown adult with a full-time job should have adorning her limited counter space?

Many years later, I would finally hear the term "dopamine decor" and it all came together. I love to be surrounded by things that make me happy, that brighten my life and remind me of favorite times and people. 

With Dopamine Decor and More, I hope to bring you cute, fun, colorful and happy designs that make you smile. From curated art and photos (all used with permission, of course), I hope to elicit laughter, smiles, nostalgia, and joy. My plan is to bring you quirky fun that helps you reclaim a little youthful whimsy in your everyday life.
