The Delightful Downy Woodpecker is always a favorite at the feeders. This tiny woodpecker shows it’s antics hanging upside down at the feeders or cocking it’s head and looking directly into your bird cam. A woodland bird known for being curious, active and friendly , he is the smallest woodpecker in North America. Stunning black and white plumage with a red patch on the crown of his head. A joy to watch.

The very vocal and playful  Red-bellied Woodpecker can be a brat at the feeders. This medium sized black and white red capped bird will play fight others and toss seeds out of the feeder it doesn’t like.  It is  truly a little birdie clown.
