Washington D.C. District of Columbia Garden Flag. Adopted on October 15, 1938. The flag was three red stars above two red bars on a white background. District of Columbia is not a state, though some have made that proposal. Washington, DC, is the capital of the United States.

The design of the Illinois flag is inspired by the Great Seal of Illinois, which was first created in 1819. The seal features an eagle holding a banner in its beak that displays the state motto: "State Sovereignty, National Union." The dates on the seal are 1818 and 1868, representing the year Illinois became a state and the year the Great Seal was redesigned. The flag's background color is white.

The Massachusetts State flag, adopted on July 3, 1971, features a white background with a blue shield in the center. The shield depicts a Native American holding a bow and arrow, symbolizing peace. There is a white star above the shield to represent Massachusetts as one of the original thirteen states, and a blue ribbon with the motto: "Ense Petit Placidam Sub Libertate Quietem" ("By the Sword We Seek Peace, but Peace Only Under Liberty"). Above the shield is an arm and sword, representing the first part of the motto.

The state of Oregon's flag is the only state flag in the USA that has a different design on each side. Both sides have a navy blue background with gold. On the front is the escutcheon from the state seal and on the reverse is a gold figure of a beaver, the state animal. Other Zazzle stores may not show double-sided designs like this one.

The flag of Delaware consists of a buff-colored diamond on a field of colonial blue, with the coat of arms of the state of Delaware inside the diamond. The flag of Indiana consists of a blue field with a golden or buff torch in the center. The torch is surrounded by lines that radiate outwards and nineteen five-pointed stars. The outer ring contains thirteen stars, while the inner ring has five stars, and there is one larger star located above the torch.
