Skull from Oaxaca, La Calavera Oaxaqueña keychain. La Calavera Oaxaqueña is the caricature broadsheet by José Guadalupe Posada in 1903, US-PD. This is the top portion of the darker print, which includes song lyrics and cartoon skeleton figures. The print shows a male skeleton dressed in a charro outfit wielding a machete among skulls (Calaveras) and skeletons. The skull from Oaxaca is connected to the Mexican Día de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead). A day to remember those who have died and it is a celebration of their spiritual journey. Call this a vintage skeleton party!
The color had been taken away and I gave it an antique brown tint to give the skeletons a special look.
