Dracula Castle - the interior courtyard

Bran Castle, also known as Dracula Castle is situated in Transylvania and in the county of Braşov, The castle is a national monument and landmark in Romania. This painting represents a bohemian-expressionist view over the interior courtyard. The castle is located 3 km from my childhood hometown and is one of the most popular places visited by tourists in Romania. This painting is the first one from a future series which are being prepared for an upcoming exposition.

Traditionally painted artwork on canvas with Art Deco pattern as main theme. The final piece was modified digitally in order to create space distortion and depth effect. It is a symbolic green pattern with the intent to stylize the undefined beauty of nature.

On my trip to Luxembourg in 2016, I have had the chance to encounter some of the most magnificent interior courtyards. 

The mysterious and enigmatic places have captured my heart. This painting represents a reinterpretation of my memories. 

Painting structural buildings indulge me into euphoria, and so is the case here. I played with colors and shapes in order to bring to the surface the mystique beyond the walls.
