Miss Mary
❤️ Welcome to my little shop where I share my love of graphic design with you and yours! ❤️
Hey, y’all! My name is Miss Mary!
As a child of the 70’s, I remember the excitement when our small town in Arkansas got its first t-shirt shop. It was a dark little place on Main Street with dozens of t-shirts proudly lining the walls… heat press in the rear of the shop… paying for each chunky letter to get your name on the back… come to think of it, that may be why a perpetually broke boyfriend dropped the S and gave me a shirt that said Tim Love Mary. LOL
(Oh! The silly little things we remember!)
But we didn’t care… it was the 70’s and everything was new and exciting. The world was big and we lived with free abandon.
Then we all became adults… 😲
In adulthood, I did the responsible thing and became an elementary teacher… but I secretly held onto my passion for graphic tees and started creating my own designer t-shirts as a side hustle in 2006. I soon expanded to other things and discovered my greatest joy in creating planners, journals, invitations, and greeting cards… but it’s always just been a hobby.
And then came 2020… since then, I lost my beloved daddy, spent a few months recovering from a freak accident, almost died of da RONA, then spent several months in and out of the hospital with my precious momma before ultimately losing her as well.
The events since 2020 have really made me step back and reevaluate a few things in my life. One of those things happens to be my career. Even though I love teaching the littles, I found myself feeling extremely restless.
In the midst of the chaos, I turned 54 and I realized that I’ve literally been sitting in a classroom for one reason or another since I was 5 years old.
That’s almost FORTY-NINE YEARS, y’all! 😲
I desperately feel the need to stretch my creative wings and do SOMETHING besides repeating the same year over and over for the rest of my life. I’d really love to be able to challenge myself creatively, enjoy the pitter-patter of my grandbabies’ little feet, and do a bit of traveling instead.
After much soul searching, I feel that God is pulling me towards a full-fledged online business.
So here I am… I’ve walked away from teaching and now I’m just a crazy Suth’uhn chick creating inspirational & fun designs for those who enjoy all things lovely!
Hitch up your panties! It’s gonna be a fun ride!
P.S. My grandma name is Honey and all of my grandbabies are my sweet little honeybees… just figured y’all need to know that in the course of conversation! 🐝🐝🐝🐝
