Butterflies and other pollinators love Joe Pye weed! This Tiger Swallowtail butterfly spent quite a bit of time in my backyard last summer, and on this day, I was able to capture him as he moved from bloom to bloom gathering nectar from the plant.

Vintage Daisy Boho Blank Inside Note Card

This round, yellow and brown flower coaster reveals the simple, whimsical appeal of the brown-eyed susan. It is a native flower to much of the east and midwest United States, and it belongs to the Rudbeckia family just like the more well-known black-eyed susan and coneflower species.   

I myself had never heard of a brown-eyed susan until recently, when I spotted one in a friend's backyard and said the big, colorful blooms looked like something out of Munchkinland in Oz!  I knew I had to photograph some of these happy, gorgeous flowers. 

The bright yellow petals of this beautiful flower make me smile, and I hope this coaster will bring a little sunshine to your day as well!
