Geometric abstraction,  also called geometric hard-edge painting, is a hard-edge painting style which in itself is an off-shoot of color field painting. It is exemplified by large areas of contrasting colors separated by clean "hard" edges / lines, arranged in a pleasing random manner that suggests nothing.
