This is an image from the book "Easy To Read" Copyright, 1882. D. Lothrop & Co. Boston Mass.  The book is over 100 years old so all the pages have that perfect patina to them. Some pages have stains but that only adds to the character and charm. I love really old books.

This is Boots.  She was one of the first chickens I ever hatched out in an incubator when I got started in raising chickens.  Boots was born in May of 2008.  She just started laying green eggs so I will have little baby Boots chicks this spring:)  Boots is an Easter Egg Chicken, which is a fancy name for a mutt that lays colored eggs.  I love her so much!
