I was out walking in the pasture today and I am so glad I looked down when I did or I would have crushed these beautiful eggs.  They are Killdeer  eggs.  The momma came screaming at me and playing like she was hurt so I would follow her away from the nest.  They are such neat little birds.  I took a couple of photos of the pretty eggs quickly and then left the area.

This is an image from the book "Easy To Read" Copyright, 1882. D. Lothrop & Co. Boston Mass. I think it is very cute. I hope you enjoy it also. The book is over 100 years old so all the pages have that perfect patina to them. Some pages have stains but that only adds to the character and charm. I love really old books.  This image is the image from the inside cover page.
